Six Things People Get Wrong About CBD

With the popularity of CBD and its variety of strains like CBD Lietuvoje, its usage has become quite common in a lot of States, let it be in recreational activities or as a supplement to medications or a substitute to allopathy. Because of this, you may have heard that CBD is everywhere these days, but do you know what it actually does? It’s easy to get confused about CBD with all the hype and misinformation the interest has about it out there. Here are six things that people still get wrong about CBD oil. 

  1. The CBD in CBD oil isn’t psychoactive 

The first thing most people notice when they take a CBD product for the first time is that it doesn’t give them a high. But what do you think happens next? Of course they’re going to assume that it must be some kind of magic trick. After all, how could something that doesn’t make you feel any better also not be doing anything? 

There are two big misconceptions here. First of all, CBD is only mildly psychoactive, so if you’re taking a lot of CBD it’s unlikely to cause problems with your mental state. Secondly, even though CBD doesn’t really raise your mood, it can definitely increase your sense of well-being. This effect has mostly been attributed to the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD, which help reduce pain and inflammation throughout your body. 

  1. You don’t need to smoke weed to benefit from CBD 

Cannabis plants produce many different compounds, including THC (the main psychoactive compound) and CBD (the non-psychoactive cannabinoid). Most cannabis products will contain both these cannabinoids. Some strains are more potent than others, but this won’t generally matter as much if you’re using CBD oil. 

When you ingest CBD, your body converts it into an inactive form called “cannabidiolic acid”. If you smoked pot or took a concentrated extract like kief, the active THC would then enter your bloodstream. However, when you use CBD oil, you’ll find that your body absorbs the CBD straight away without having to go through the same metabolic process. 

  1. CBD oil isn’t legal in the UK 

If you’re in the UK, you might have come across claims that CBD oil isn’t legal there. Unfortunately, this is completely untrue. In fact, CBD oil has been on sale in the UK since 2005. There was just a change in law in March 2017 that meant it became easier to sell CBD products legally. 

However, there were still restrictions. As well as being illegal to possess, people found themselves at risk of prosecution if they bought CBD products online because it was difficult for the authorities to track down sellers. Fortunately, this situation has now changed and the police no longer have the resources to go after every single individual who sells CBD oil. 

  1. CBD oil is the same as hemp oil 

Many people confuse CBD oil with hemp oil. Both these products are derived from the Cannabis plant, but they look very different. Hemp oil contains less than 0.3% THC and is therefore legal to buy. On the other hand, CBD oil comes from a variety of sources – hemp plants, industrial hemp crops, marijuana plants grown for recreational purposes and industrial hemp crops grown for medical reasons. 

  1. CBD oil is good for pets 

It’s often said that CBD oil will help reduce anxiety and improve sleep in humans. So why wouldn’t it also work for animals as well? Well, while the evidence is promising, it hasn’t yet been proven conclusively. 

That said, studies have shown that CBD oil reduces stress in dogs and helps control their seizures. Also, anecdotal reports suggest that CBD oil is effective in reducing inflammation and pain in cats. However, the safety and efficacy of CBD oil in pets has yet to be fully established. 

  1. The effects of CBD oil are immediate 

As we’ve already mentioned, CBD oil isn’t psychoactive in the way that THC is. It’s also not addictive like cocaine or heroin. Instead, its benefits are felt gradually over time. For example, one study found that regular users of CBD oil experienced significantly lower levels of anxiety over time compared to those who had never used it. 

This gradual change in perception is also true for the subjective experiences of people who consume CBD oil regularly. They tend to report feeling calmer, happier, and more relaxed than before. However, there’s no real scientific proof of this. What’s clear is that CBD oil can be extremely helpful for chronic pain and insomnia, which are notoriously hard to treat effectively. 

The Effects Of CBD 

There are many things that people still get wrong about CBD oil. We’ve looked at six of them here, and explained why they aren’t quite right. But there is one important point to remember: everyone reacts differently to CBD oil. 

For example, some people will experience mild nausea or diarrhea immediately following ingestion. Others will find that their anxiety, depression or pain improves gradually over time. And some people may not experience any noticeable effects whatsoever.
